What is RoHS compliance?

RoHS is an abbreviation for restriction of hazardous substances.  Products that conform to all the stated material restrictions are said to be in RoHS compliant. This restriction was founded by the European Union to reduce and restrict the utilization of specific hazardous materials found in electrical and electronic products. These materials are harmful to the environment and also to those who are exposed to them from the manufacturing stage until its disposal phase.

What materials are controlled under RoHS?

Lead, Mercury, PBB (Polybrominated Biphenyls), PBDE ( Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers), Hexavalent Chromium, Cadmium.
